The software bundled with mouse is reserved for use only by Boomslang. Installation is very quick and simple and will allow you to configure a lots of settings – sensor, underlighting, buttons and other mouse features. There are always three active Razer *exe files in system memory – razehid.exe (driver), razertra.exe and razerofa.exe (Razer On the Fly Adjustment). Altogether approximately 12,5MB RAM is consumed. After the opening of the graphics interface, fourth exe files is activated – razercfg.exe (Razer Config), consuming additional 10MB RAM.

Graphics interface is tuned in typical Razer's colours – green&black. Primary Menu will allow you a buttons set up. All of five buttons are fully programmable. It's possible to add macros together with specific predefined functions. You can set up also the rolling of mouse ball.

It is possible to turn off the underlighting independently. USB port frequency (125, 500, 1000Hz – Ultrapolling™) together with resolution On-The-Fly Sensitivity™ allow the possibility to be changed during the use.
Boomslang has integrated internal memory of 32 kB, Razer Synapse™, which is able to save five users profiles. Strange is, that Boomslang doesn't have, like G9, Lachesis and Sidewinder do, button with which it would be possible to change primary function of the profile set-up. Than you have two options, or you'll change the profile using drivers or otherwise you can assign this function to one of mouse buttons (you'll loose primary button function). You can safe the configuration files directly to the hard disk with *.conf. extension.

Choosing in roll down menu, you can assess mouse sensitivity degree and mouse acceleration (see pictures).
Drivers – second opinion (Ľubomír Dóci - reviewer)
"Boomslang is designed to grip your attention and it will get you also with unique functionality. I've tried the Razer mouse with three PCs and one laptop. With laptop, it works very easily, without installation CD (buttons 4 and 5 were working with the function forward and back). After the mouse installation, I could freely configure all the buttons. However, not having the installation CD for PC, all becomes little bit more complicated, and even if the mouse seemed to work, not all of the buttons were fully functional. Razer software is very creative, although black colour is slightly exhausting for eyes, but could you imagine Razer without characteristic black&green combination?”
